Professional Biography
Blake M. Hedgecock focuses his practice on real estate litigation matters in state and federal courts involving lenders, special servicers of commercial mortgage-backed securities (CMBS), title companies, real estate developers and landowners. His practice encompasses matters involving workouts, acquisitions, dispositions, receiverships, foreclosures, carveout claims, land use disputes, title claims and defense, lost rents, valuation, impound/escrow/reserve account (DSCR) disputes and market value issues. Mr. Hedgecock has additional experience in construction, finance and eminent domain matters, including whole and partial takings, temporary takings, inverse condemnation and regulatory takings. He is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th and Federal Circuits and the U.S. Supreme Court.
Mr. Hedgecock is licensed in Texas, having graduated from the University of Miami School of Law (LL.M., Real Property Development) and Texas Wesleyan University School of Law. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, the American Bar Association, the Dallas Bar Association, the Tarrant County Bar Association and is a fellow of the Texas and Tarrant County Bar Foundations. He serves on the Dean’s Advisory Board for the Texas Wesleyan University School of Law and on the Advisory Board to the Dean of the College of Business at the University of North Texas.
