Professional Biography

Jerry C. Gilmore engages in a general civil practice with emphasis in state and local government, including areas of constitutional law, civil rights, employment discrimination, zoning, land use and condemnation.  His practice also encompasses mediation and arbitration, family law, probate and general civil litigation.  Mr. Gilmore is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.  He is licensed in Texas, having graduated from The University of Texas School of Law.  Mr. Gilmore is a member of the Society of Professionals in Dispute Resolution, the Association of Attorney Mediators, Inc., the Dallas Bar Association, the College of the State Bar of Texas and the National Association of Securities Dealers.

Jerry has been involved in the Dallas-Fort Worth community for many years.  He is currently on the Board of Trustees, Vice President, and Assistant Secretary at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children.  Jerry is a former board member (1993-1995) and Vice Chair (1993-1994) with the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART), former member of the Board of Trustees (1986), Chairman (1996) and Vice Chairman (1990-1996) of Methodist Medical Center, member of the Board of Directors (1996) with Methodist Hospitals of Dallas , former Chair (1980-1982; 1984-1986) and Board of Trustee member (1976-1992) with the Dallas County Community College District, former member of the Dallas City Council (1971-1975), Past Chair of the Transportation Steering Committee of National League of Cities, Past Vice Chair of the Regional Transportation Policy Advisory Committee, Past President of the Oak Cliff Rotary Club as well as the Oak Cliff Lions Club and Past Chair and former member of the Board of Trustees of Dallas County Mental Health/Mental Retardation.
