Loren Hanson

Professional Biography

Loren Q. Hanson’s practice spans more than 50 years, counseling clients in the areas of banking, corporate, estate planning and probate and real estate.  Mr. Hanson is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas and the U.S. Courts of Appeals, 5th and 11th Circuits.  He is licensed in Texas, having graduated from The University of Texas School of Law.  After graduating, he served as a briefing attorney for the Supreme Court of Texas.  Mr. Hanson is a charter member of the Texas Association of Bank Counsel, on the Board of Directors of the Texas Lawyers' Insurance Exchange, a member of the Supreme Court Briefing Attorneys Association, the State Bar of Texas and a Texas Bar Foundation Life Fellow.  Mr. Hanson has received two Texas State Bar Presidential Citations and received the Blackstone Award from the Tarrant County Bar Association for exemplifying the highest attributes of the legal profession.

Loren Hanson

Personal Biography

Loren is a devoted volunteer to various civic and professional associations in and around the Tarrant County area.  He is a member of the First United Methodist Church, Petroleum Club and Ridglea Country Club.   Loren was born and raised during the depression in South Dakota, where his father was a circuit court judge.  He served in the Korean Conflict as an U.S. Airforce intelligence officer and an instructor in Officer Candidate School in San Antonio.  Loren is currently is married to the former Beverly Baird and has two children, Peder and Amy.  

Loren’s many civic activities include Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Texas Wesleyan University (1995-1998), Chairman of the Fort Worth Air Power Council (2000), member of the Board of Directors of M Bank, Fort Worth Texas (1980-1989), Trustee of James L. and Eunice West Charitable Trust (1981-1991).  During his years on the Board of Trustees of Texas Wesleyan University, he was one of the Trustees instrumental in bringing its Law School to Fort Worth and continues to serve as a Trustee Emeritus.  He has been active in the YMCA, holding a number of offices and serving on a number of committees and as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Fort Worth Metropolitan YMCA (1982). 

Loren was a member of the 1990 Capital Campaign Steering Committee and Chairman of the Board of Camping Branch, YMCA (1976).  He is a recipient of the 1983 Chi-Rho Award from the Fort Worth Metropolitan YMCA and several YMCA Achievement Awards.  In 2001, Loren received the Law “Good Scout” Award from Boy Scouts of America, Longhorn Council.  He is a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Moslah Temple Shrine and the Shrine Patrol.  Loren  has served as National President of Kappa Alpha Order (1977-1981), his college social fraternity and a founder of its National Educational Foundation of which he is a Trustee.
