Professional Biography
In addition to litigating commercial disputes including non-profit defense, Peter C. Blomquist routinely handles the defense of large, catastrophic losses on behalf of transportation companies. He directs the firm’s Emergency/Rapid Response Team and frequently travels to the scene of accidents and directs investigations from the moment the loss occurs through trial. Mr. Blomquist has tried multiple cases to verdict throughout Texas and handles an increased number of labor and employment cases, from inception (filing of EEOC complaint) through litigation. His practice includes matters involving directors’ and officers’ liability defense.
Mr. Blomquist is admitted to practice before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Eastern and Southern Districts of Texas. He is a licensed in Texas, having graduated from South Texas College of Law. Mr. Blomquist is member of the Trucking Industry Defense Association, Transportation Lawyers of America, Texas Motor Transportation Association, Texas Association of Defense Counsel, Defense Research Institute Transportation Committee, State Bar of Texas (Litigation and Labor and Employment Law Sections), Houston Bar Association (Litigation and Construction Law Sections) and the American Bar Association Tort and Insurance Section. Mr. Blomquist is a frequent speaker at client events and seminars and recently lectured on strategic considerations when handling retaliation claims.

Recent Results
- Tried and obtained favorable results in 2 cases for Federal Express. One was a defense verdict and the other, a wrongful death case with no liability defenses, resulted in a finding several hundred thousand dollars less than what was offered to settle before trial.
- Defended and obtained favorable settlement on behalf of a product manufacturer in a property damage and lost profits case with a damage model in excess of $20 million dollars.
