Roger Beecham

Professional Biography

Roger E. Beecham concentrates his practice on oil & gas, oil & gas litigation, and water law.  Mr. Beecham began his career working for a major oil and gas company.  He is experienced in dealing with acquisitions, exploration, and development of non-producing and producing oil and gas properties including fee lands, Indian lands, and state and federal lands.

Recently Mr. Beecham has devoted most of his time for title review and examination.  The Energy Group has been involved with all aspects of mineral titles where we have prepared over 1200 oil and gas title opinions in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma. He has been involved with leases, leasing, seismic agreements, exploration and AMI agreements, drilling contracts, joint operating agreements, participation agreements, farmouts and farmins, gas balancing agreements, oil and gas purchase and sales contracts, natural gas transportation agreements, gas processing agreements, pooling declarations, and unitization projects involving both production and gas storage. 

Mr. Beecham has represented both borrowers and lenders in oil and gas lending transactions including asset-based and corporate loans; and non-conventional lending and financing based on production payments, net profits interests, back-ins, and carried interests.  He has litigated on behalf of clients in both state and federal courts in disputes involving quite title and trespass to try title issues, over and underpayment of oil and gas royalties, joint operating agreements, drilling contracts and other oil and gas contractual matters. 

Mr. Beecham is admitted before the U.S. District Court for the Northern, Southern, Eastern and Western Districts of Texas, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court.  Mr. Beecham is licensed in Texas and Oklahoma, having graduated from the University of Oklahoma College of Law.  He is a member of the American Association of Petroleum Landmen, Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen, State Bar of Texas, Dallas Bar Association and American Bar Association.

When not practicing law, Roger is active in and around the Dallas area and north of the border.  He is currently serving on the Founders Committee for the proposed University of North Texas Law School and is a member of the Board of Governors for the Oklahoma State University Foundation.
