Distinguished History

Shannon Gracey has a long and distinguished history. The firm traces its origin to the late 1930’s, when the attorneys of Walker, Smith & Shannon of Fort Worth, Texas, began acting as general counsel for a number of prominent Fort Worth companies involved with banking, oil and railroads. In 1968, the firm merged with Crowley, Wright, Ratliff & Miller, which eventually led to the creation of the firm as it is today.

Professional Leadership

Many of our attorneys have held leadership positions with the State Bar of Texas, including serving as chairs or heads of committees and sub-committees of the Corporate, Business, Banking, Employment and Insurance sections. At the national level, our attorneys have served in varying capacities with the American Bar Association. Still more have contributed their time and talents to local bar associations.

Several of our attorneys held positions within the Securities and Exchange Commission and served as briefing attorneys or law clerks to judges in the U.S. District Court, the U.S. and State Courts of Appeals and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, providing a wealth of valuable experience and bringing an insider’s perspective to the firm. Shannon Gracey has leveraged this deep knowledge and leadership experience to become a highly diversified, multi-disciplinary firm with a commitment to providing high quality, creative and effective legal services. Several former partners currently serve in a judicial capacity, sitting as judges in our State District Courts and as appellate justices on the Court of Appeals.

Sustainable Excellence

The attorneys at Shannon Gracey are passionate about making every billable hour their finest hour. In the pursuit of legal excellence, a few of our attorneys hold an LL.M. (Master of Law), a postgraduate law degree. Others have been elected to and remain active members of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Board of Trial Advocates, American College of Trust and Estate Counsel and American College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.

Our firm and many of our attorneys have been recognized repeatedly for excellence in the legal profession, resulting in numerous state and national honors.
