The Bankruptcy Group at Shannon Gracey

Members of the Bankruptcy Group at Shannon Gracey assist clients throughout the United States with a wide range of bankruptcy related and debtor/creditor issues.   In the last few years, a considerable amount of time has been spent on healthcare, energy and real estate-related bankruptcy cases.  Our attorneys regularly represent banks, landlords, financial institutions, asset-based lenders, investors, insurance companies and trustees, to form and implement strategies through Chapter 11 reorganization cases, debt restructurings, loan workouts and liquidations.  We also regularly represent creditors who have been sued for preferences and/or fraudulent transfers.

A Comprehensive Approach

The Group collaborates with other practice areas to ensure our clients receive a strategic approach to their legal challenges.
  • Banking & Financial Institutions - Our attorneys assist lenders and corporate borrowers in maneuvering through federal and state statutes for the preservation of security interests, debt restructuring and foreclosure of liens.

  • Corporate, Mergers & Acquisitions, Securities – We help negotiate, draft and implement plans of reorganization as well as counsel corporate clients on operating under the Bankruptcy Code.

  • Energy - The Group helps address significant issues facing the energy industry including defaults under existing loan facilities, restructurings inside and outside bankruptcy, as well as rights of working and royalty interest owners in bankruptcy cases.

  • Litigation / Alternative Dispute Resolution / Appellate - In addition to counseling clients in the areas of bankruptcy, workouts and restructuring, the firm handles commercial litigation in state and federal courts involving a variety of commercial issues.  Our attorneys have substantial experience with the issues involved in enforcement of deeds of trust, enforcement of creditor rights and remedies, lender liability defense and judicial and non-judicial foreclosures.

  • Real Estate – Our attorneys counsel commercial landlords in landlord tenant disputes involving lease obligations and represent clients in bankruptcy proceedings.
